Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Chanting
I started my yoga journey in 1990. Over the years my practice was enriched and transformed under the generous and precious guidance of teachers that I have had the very good fortune to study under, in Greece and in India.
My meeting with Mansoor on the banks of the Ganges river in 2005, changed my life. He introduced me to the real essence of yoga. Through his living example, his vigorous practices which revealed yoga's subtler aspects, together with the extensive study of the Ancient Scriptures that put the practice in its rightful context, Yoga became the backdrop of my life and a constant point of reference and inspiration.
Vaidya Asvin Barot and Dr. Nicholas Kostopoulos introduced me to the Principles of Ayurveda, and its connection to Yoga Meditation and Philosophy. Through their teachings, love and support, through their practices and repeated trips to India, I have been learning to recognize and appreciate the different elements that constitute the totality of life and also, what is needed to maintain clarity and peace in the mind, as well as balance and health in the body; how to integrate these practices in daily life and introduce these principles to others.
Tew Bunnag, through practices drawn from the Buddhist tradition, tai chi and chi kung , has developed ways of deep healing, accessible to all and applicable to everyday life. With him, I have completed several trainings of the Vinyana Association (Spain), on spiritual care.
Chloe Goodchild, through her system of the Naked Voice, has demonstrated the undeniable power of the voice as a spiritual practice and yet another way of unfolding and connecting to one's own essence.
Learning sanskrit, chanting, and the study of ancient texts, compliment my study and my life long path towards the truth.
My classes are a fusion of the teachings I have been exposed to and the practices that I have been applying in my daily life, bringing strength, health and harmony into the body and at the same time bringing peace to the mind, and space to begin exploring one's own existence and essence in one's life. Asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, chanting voice practices, chi kung, sharing and laughing are all part of the sessions held at Yoga Heart!
