About the Event
Dear friends, it would be great to get everyone together, outside a yoga class, in the warm embrace of Yoga Heart and in the spirit of Christmas. My friend Andi, who often gives ayurvedic cooking classes, will start the day by showing us how to make a delicious spicy, wintery warm chai, which we can all taste and enjoy. Then she will demonstrate how to prepare Ghee. Itself a beautiful ritual to make at your home, ghee is an amazing addition to your cooking, with many beneficial properties for our health. There will also be some ghee for you to take home!🧑🎄 Please see the file below where Andi has written a few words about it. Much love, Lia
I will be very happy to share with you the making of Chai and Ghee at Yoga Heart! Here is a few words about their properties and uses.
10.00 am CHAI
Chai is a spiced, milky drink that originates from India. There are innumerable versions of chai-spice-mixes in India, but most commonly the following aromatic spices are used: clove, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper. This tasty drink can be consumed as a snack or sipped with our meals. It could be a perfect alternative to coffee. There is nothing better than returning home after a tiring day and sitting down with a cup of delicious chai. The spice-combination can be changed according to the seasons, and the amount of milk and water can also be adjusted to best fit your tastebuds. A good cup of chai will cheer you up and warm your body and soul.
11.30 am GHEE
Ghee is called clarified butter as it is free of toxins, bad cholesterol, casein protein and it contains only a very low level of lactose, and milk protein. Ghee provides you with the purest form of fat and it is safe to consume to most people. It is especially beneficial to consume it during the winter month, as it enhances your energy level and improves your immunity. Ghee is like liquid gold as has innumerable medicinal properties:
· Improves your digestion.
· Helps the absorption and assimilation of your food.
· Relaxes and improves your nervous system.
· Improves your memory and overall wellbeing.
· Improves your flexibility.
· It assists in improving the quality of your life, thus your chances to live a long and healthy life.
COOKING WITH GHEE Ghee has one of the highest flash points of all oils. It does not burn easily, unless heated excessively, and it is an amazing cooking agent. Ghee has the potential to carry the healing properties of your spices to the deepest layers of your body. You may replace your oil or butter by ghee and use it in your soups, stews, curries, sautéing or stir-frying. Additionally, you can add it to your rice, pasta, or potato dishes.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!Andi Szentgyörgyi
